In lieu of the annual in-person Washington Canvas Conference (WACC), the eLearning Council (ELC) is pleased to offer a series of free monthly WACCy webinars this spring. Please join us for the third and final webinar in the spring series.
- Wednesday, June 9th
- Noon – 1:00 PM
Synchronous Classrooms (Pedagogical Use of Zoom)
Join faculty librarians Jennifer Snoek-Brown and Kathy Swart to learn about their experience using Open Pedagogy to support Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. Swart will share her sabbatical research which relied on critical information literacy and open education to create assignments that amplify the voices of marginalized groups, counter misinformation, and engage students in helping faculty transition to OER. Please visit “Assignments for Faculty – Centering Marginalized Groups” to view this amazing collection of assignments! Snoek-Brown will discuss her work with faculty and students on open pedagogy projects that integrate more inclusive OER images and multimedia. During the final segment of the session participants will be invited to share about their open pedagogy ideas and projects.
The webinars are FREE and no registration is required! Simply click the “Join Us in Zoom” link below to join the webinar at the designated time. Please log in a little bit early to avoid technical issues. Not sure if your computer meets the technical requirements for Zoom or just want to give it a test … try it now!
